MULTIPLAYER FAQ

  • Two headsets with the same Meta account can’t play multiplayer together. Although this is a feature we very much wanted to implement, it was not possible with the ecosystem we used for our multiplayer. This might be something we can get around implementing in the future.

  • Yes, you can use app-sharing to share the app to another account and play multiplayer together.

  • DLC sharing is not possible in Puzzling Places multiplayer right now. This is something we would like to enable in the future but there are still some technical hurdles, so we can’t confirm it yet.

  • For now, Multiplayer is only limited to Meta Quest. We’re aiming to have additional platforms as well as cross platform available in the future.

  • To limit the scope of Puzzling Places multiplayer, we decided to start with only two players per session. Our main goal is to learn from the community how they play Puzzling Places with other people. Given a positive reception and demand, we might expand the number of players further in the future.

  • All progress is saved in multiplayer just like single player. The multiplayer save files are separated from the single player, so one would not override the other.

There is a savegame file for each room code, on the device of Player 1. That means to make sure you can continue playing the puzzle, the same person needs to create and host the multiplayer room the next time as well.

  • Yes, the grouping and see-through tools are available in multiplayer. The color picker also is available but its effect is local-only (meaning, only you will see the environment colors shifting).

The repacker is not yet available in multiplayer.

  • There is no matchmaking. You enter a room code and join whoever is already there. If you are interested in matchmaking, please let us know. For now we recommend to join the Puzzling Places Discord to find other people interested in playing together!
